Support for Carers Family and Friends

What   These free 3hr workshops support patients and carers to overcome the emotional and practical challenges of facing or supporting someone with cancer or a life-limiting illness.

St Luke's Hospice - Plymouth

What   Hospice that provides specialist end of life care and support to people with progressive life-limiting illnesses. Children's Cancer and Leukemia Movement (CALM)

What   CALM is a charity which aims to improve the quality of life for both children going through cancer treatment, and the parents and families during and after treatment. CALM provides support to families to cope with physical, emotional and often financial strain. They organise social events for befriending, and provide grants to families to help with expenses.

Prospect Hospice

What   Prospect Hospice in Swindon provides end of life care for those with life-limiting illnesses such as cancer. The hospice has an inpatient care service which includes pain management treatments and respite care. SPRING Exercise and Information Group

What   SPRING is an exercise and information group developed to help men and women going through cancer treatment to improve their physical fitness and confidence. The group is aimed at helping patients adopt an active lifestyle to maximise the health benefits that can be achieved during and after cancer treatment. SPRING is supported by skilled physiotherapists and volunteers. Classes are free of charge.

Yeovil Hospital Oncology Unit

What   Medical centre providing diagnostics, treatment and care for cancer patients. Working together with St Margaret’s Hospice, they also provide palliative care services.  The centre has a team of clinical nurse specialists who are available to answer questions, provide support to patients and their families and liaise with other services and hospitals.
