What is Cancer Care Map? Cancer Care Map is an online directory of over 6,000 cancer support services across the UK. We list everything from local support groups, to national charities, and everything in between. All information is checked and updated by our team who are based around the UK. As well as our main website, you can also access our database of information through other websites including Macmillan Cancer Support and NHS partners.
Can anyone use the website and is it free? Yes, anyone can use Cancer Care Map – it’s completely free for organisations to be listed and for people to access information.
How do you check the information listed on Cancer Care Map? We are a team of real people, not automated AI. All information that appears on Cancer Care Map has been checked and verified by our information team against a clear set of criteria to ensure that they are operating within NHS guidelines. We require specific information from organisations and reserve the right to not include any service that does not meet our criteria or that we later receive negative feedback about.
How often are the listings checked and updated? Our information team are continually checking and updating the information on Cancer Care Map. You can see on the bottom of each listing when it was last updated.
How do I use the search? You can search using either just your location, or you can include a keyword if you already know what you are looking for.
- If you’re using a keyword it’s best to use just 1 or 2 words rather than a phrase.
- National listings are included by default, but you can untick the ’include National services’ box if you only want to know about local services.
I can’t find what I’m looking for? Try just using your postcode/local town to see everything that is in your local area.
- You can then filter your results by type of support to help you find what you are looking for.
- If you are looking for something specific and can’t find it locally, try including National services and you might find online information or support that you can access wherever you are in the UK.
Can I print my search results? Yes, there is a print icon at the top of your search results, this will print your results off in a user-friendly format.
How can I share my search results with friends and family? There is a ‘Share’ button on your results page and each listing which enables you to simply copy the URL or share it to WhatsApp, email and Facebook.
What sort of organisations are listed on Cancer Care Map? Any organisation that offers care or support to people living with or affected by cancer in the UK can be listed on Cancer Care Map – everything from big support centres like Macmillan and Maggie’s centres, to community lead support groups, health and wellbeing services, and local businesses who offer services specifically to help people living the cancer. We also list national helplines, podcasts and other online resources.
Do you have to register to be listed or to use Cancer Care Map? No, there is no registration required.
The search isn’t working properly? If you are having problems with the search you can try clearing your cache. Or do get in touch with us directly and let us know what the problem is and we can try and find a solution – email us at hello@cancercaremap.org.
What if I find something on the site that is incorrect? If you spot an error or out of date information, please let us know. You can go to www.cancercaremap.org/contact-us and fill in the form, or contact us at hello@cancercaremap.org.
How do we add our organisation to Cancer Care Map? To add your own information to the site or to tell us about an organisation you know about, simply go to www.cancercaremap.org/add-a-service-for-review/ and fill in the form. Alternatively you can email us at hello@cancercaremap.org if you have a list of organisations to tell us about. We will then take it from there.

Can I write something for your blog page? Yes, our blog page is where organisations and individuals can share their stories with us. Are you a commercial business? No, we are a charity, The Richard Dimbleby Cancer Fund.
How is Cancer Care Map funded? Cancer Care Map is a charitable organisation, developed and funded by The Richard Dimbleby Cancer Fund. We have received funding from NHS England, charitable foundations, private Trusts, and other grants, as well as charitable donations. We also licence our information to 3rd parties including Macmillan Cancer Support and the Cancer Alliances.
