Macmillan Hope Programme


Free online programme designed to help people living with cancer build resiliance, rediscover their strengths and increase their ability to cope during difficult times. The programme is run by trained facilitators and medical professionals who have experiences of living with cancer. Over 6 weeks the programme teaches people how to relax, reduce stress, manage fatigue, improve their confidence, set goals, explore worries and concerns when dealing with cancer. Each week it covers different topics like smarter goal setting, priorities and values, living positively with fears for the future, character strengths, physical activity, eating well, managing stress, coping with fatigue and gratitude. Each session includes quizzes, worksheets, audio and video materials, interactive gratitude and goal setting and social networking via email and forums. The programme is flexible, taking up 2 hours per week to complete at a time that is convenient to each particpant and can be easily done on PC, laptop, tablet or smartphone.
