5 Minutes with… PICC-Me Ltd

06 March 2025 — jessica-bailey

We spoke to Nick Tyrrell, Director of PICC-Me Ltd, to find out more about their individual range of UK-made PICC line covers, sleeves, and chemo pump bags – a small business that began after Nick’s wife, Connie, had recovered from her cancer treatment.

Tell us about your organisation, Nick?

PICC-Me® was created in 2018. When Connie had her PICC line fitted, we discovered there was nothing UK made that was pretty or practical to cover it. All she had was the hospital provided Tubi-Grip – just the one! It didn’t wash well, looked awful and shed all over her clothes.

That’s when Connie decided that she could and would do something about it and PICC-Me® was born.

The company is based in Surrey and all of our products are designed and made here in the UK

What services do you offer people living with cancer?

We manufacture PICC line sleeves and chemo pump bags. Our products reflect all personalities and styles. For those who want to discreetly cover their PICC Line or be bold and colourful.

PICC-Me® is about holding onto your own identity during treatment. It’s about making the positive choice to be Me.

Do you have a target demographic who use your services?

Our products are aimed at adults who have a PICC line fitted for chemo or other therapies. Recently we added chemo pump bags for those continuing their therapy at home with portable infusion pumps.

How are you funded?

PICC-Me Ltd is a private limited company, registered with Companies House. It is co-owned by its two directors. The company is racially diverse and is female led. Neither PICC-Me Ltd nor its Directors receive any funding, grant or support from any external body or organisation. PICC-Me Ltd is a Cancer Research UK donor.

Has anything changed for your organisation since the pandemic?

Interestingly, the pandemic had little long term effect on the company. Once the initial chaos had settled down and the hospitals better understood how to manage patient care, they restarted cancer treatments. We followed their recommended COVID safety measures and continued to supply PICC line sleeves to our customers.

What’s the most rewarding thing about the work you do?

Talking to customers. We’ve been there. We know that our customers are typically at the beginning of their treatment cycle. Our role is to reassure and guide them, based on our experiences, during a very worrying and unfamiliar situation.

What would you say to those who are considering getting in touch with you but are nervous or apprehensive?

Call us. We’ve been there. We understand. The company was created to help others in the same place that we have been.

Do you have testimonials from people that have used your services?

“These covers are fantastic. Honestly, they have made having this line in so much easier for myself and people around me. They look far less clinical! The team I’m under haven’t seen them before and think they are brilliant.”

“I cannot thank you enough for your kindness and prompt action. I am delighted with the covers and they fit perfectly.”

Who works for you?

Our two founding Directors, Connie and Nick. We have a wonderful professional machinist who produces our stretch fabric sleeves.

What are the values of your organisation?

Integrity: we always act honestly and ethically.

Innovation: we constantly look for new ways to help our customers.

Respect: we treat everyone with dignity and fairness.

Understanding: we been where our customers are – both as patient and carer. We know it can be a huge, seemly impossible challenge but there is always hope and increasingly, good outcomes.

Describe your organisation in 3 words?

Fashionable, discreet sleeves
