
Support group meeting monthly for young adults in Manchester living with cancer. The group organises informal activities like coffee and cake, walks, bowling, pub socials and meals out. The charity also provides advice on relationships, work, travel insurance, menopause, mental health, fertility and parenting through cancer.
A group of trained volunteers offering practical and emotional support to people affected by cancer, aiming to give them more independence, choice and control over their lives. Support includes transport to appointments, befriending, phone support, shopping and small tasks around the house.
Living with and Beyond Cancer Support Group
Drop in sessions organised by Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust for people living with cancer or its after effects. This support group offers a chance to talk with other people in a similar situation at Fallowfield Manchester in a relaxed environment with an art therapist and refreshments. A support group primarily for gay and bisexual men, trans women and all those affected by a diagnosis of prostate cancer. The group usually meets the first Saturday of every month at The Lesbian and Gay Foundation Community Resource Centre and offers emotional comfort and support and practical information rather than medical help. A support centre providing both group and individual help for those with or affected by all forms of cancer. They provide practical information and advice, various activities and a space to meet and share experiences with others. Services include support groups, welfare and benefits advice, wellbeing workshops and complementary therapies or you can just stop by for a chat and a cup of tea with people who understand. Dedicated choir for people aged 18 and over, who have received a cancer diagnosis of some kind at any point in life. Membership is free, there are no auditions to worry about, you don’t need to be able to read music or have previous singing experience and there are no geographical restrictions.
African Caribbean Care Group (ACCG)
Charity supporting the African Caribbean community. It offers cultural appropriate services designed to support older adults and individuals with health care needs. This includes information and advice, day care, dementia support, carer support, a transport service, complementary therapies, a lunch club, food pantry and social activities and events.
The Roy Castle Lung Cancer Foundation – Salford Support Group
The Roy Castle Foundation provides information and support specifically for lung cancer patients including practical advice, bereavement support and advice, support groups, information days and support to quit smoking not only for patients but also for their families.
