With an estimated 1.1 million carers in the UK supporting people living with cancer, we know that finding the right help and support can make an incredible difference to both the lives of patients and their carers. Here we highlight just a few of the organisations that offer help, guidance and respite with carers in mind. Carers UK

Charity and community group for unpaid carers of all ages. It offers advice, support and information through its phone helpline, digital resources and signposting to carer groups. It also campaigns to make life better for carers. For more information, see website.

Carers Trust

Online directory for unpaid carers of all ages. It offers information and advice, and signposts to local carer services. It also has information about financial support for carers and the person being cared for including benefits and grants. For more information, see website.

Carers First

Practical and emotional support for unpaid carers. It offers guidance on employment issues, accessing respite, navigating conversations with medical and social care professionals. It also advises on benefits and finances, training, social activities and finding support groups. Please visit the website for more information.

Carers Direct Helpline by NHS

NHS helpline for unpaid carers in England. It provides free and confidential advice, information and support and can put callers in touch with specialist national or local sources of help. See website for more information.

Care For You Coaching

Coaching sessions supporting parents and carers of people living with cancer. Sessions aim to make the carer needs the priority. They help to develop strategies to manage stress, build confidence with positive self-talk and help reconnect you with yourself. Contact for a free, no obligation consultation chat. Mobilise – Support for Unpaid Carers

Organisation for unpaid carers, offering practical and emotional support. It has guides to all aspects of caring on its website and mobile app including financial and emotional help. It also hosts regular online meet ups giving carers a chance to meet others with shared experiences.

The 3H Foundation

Charity for those who are unpaid carers for a disabled loved one. It offers practical support, helping carers get a break from their caring role through days out and may provide financial help towards this. Support is also given to young carers aged 13 to 25. Low income families are supported to organise their own UK holiday with grants towards their accommodation.
