CV Lifestyles Cancer Rehabilitation
Exercise referral programme for people aged 16 and above living with or beyond cancer. It offers group exercise sessions over twelve weeks, led by Level 4 qualified instructors, to help you prepare for, or recover from, cancer treatment and surgery. To get referred, contact the Macmillan Information and Support Centre at the University Hospital Coventry.
Breast Cancer Now – Living with Secondary Breast Cancer
Monthly group for people living with secondary breast cancer. Facilitated by a trained counsellor, it offers the chance to meet people who understand. Meeting in person on the second Thursday of the month at 11am, with regular expert speakers.
Free walking group for people living with and beyond cancer, as well as their loved ones and carers. The group offers a supportive space to meet others with shared experiences while taking part in gentle physical activity and receiving emotional support.
Macmillan Cancer Support Information Centre – Coventry
Part of the UK wide Macmillian cancer charity, this support centre offers free and confidential information and support in a relaxed and comfortable environment. Services at the centre include counselling, benefits advice, self-help and practical support, courses and workshops for all those affected by cancer including family and friends.
Shine a Light, Support Services
Charity supporting families in the Coventry and Warwickshire area affected by childhood cancer. Services include home and hospital visits, and events and day trips for families. Additional support is provided through drop-in sessions, counselling, support groups, play therapy, and activity sessions.
Hospice for people living with life-limiting conditions, including their loved ones and carers. It offers end of life care, either at the hospice or in people’s homes, as well as counselling, children and teen services, a range of therapies, support groups, lymphoedema care and spiritual support.
Specialist support centre offering assessment, treatment, follow-up and supportive care. The service provides oncology input to local cancer units, as well as specialist care for the region through radiotherapy treatment and an oncology service.
