Cancer Support Services in Belfast | Spotlight

There are over 6,000 local and national support services listed across the UK on Cancer Care Map. Today we’re spotlighting some of the cancer support services available in and around Belfast.

 

 

The Rainbow Project

Cancer support service for LGBTQIA+ people affected by cancer, including loved ones and carers. Its support services include one to one support, group support, a listening ear service, and signposting to support in your area. It also delivers training for healthcare professionals on supporting LGBTQIA+ people through their cancer care.

Pretty ‘n’ Pink

Support centre for people living with breast cancer and their families. It offers information, advice and practical support including counselling, emotional support and complementary therapies such as reiki, Indian head massage, therapeutic touch and reflexology.

Friends of the Cancer Centre

Cancer support centre that provides information and support to anyone living with cancer. Services include professional healthcare and research, complementary therapies, exercise classes, financial support and mobility assistance for wheelchair users. Cancer Focus

Charity offering a range of services for people affected by cancer, including emotional support, information and advice, and wellbeing activities. It also provides access to a cancer nurse support line and practical support such as transport services, offering support throughout the cancer journey.

Cancer Lifeline

Drop in support centre for people living with cancer including their loved ones and carers. It offers practical and emotional support including welfare benefits advice, family/carer support, counselling, complementary therapies, wellbeing workshops, bereavement care and support groups.

Bringing Hope to People with Cancer

Charity providing practical support for people living with cancer, including their loved ones and carers. Services include a free will writing service, travel and expenses and a clothes/furniture donation service. In addition it can signpost to holistic support, financial/benefits advice and counselling services. It also has a holiday home ‘Hopefield House’ offering a restful break for those affected by cancer.
