
Exercise schemes for people living with and beyond cancer. Kirklees Active Leisure offer two cancer exercise programmes at Huddersfield Leisure Centre – ‘Live Well Cancer’ and ‘Next Steps for Cancer’. The first is a 16-week exercise programme for adults which includes 1:1 gym support and a weekly class-based session – you must be referred by a health care professional to access this. The other programme, Next Steps, is a weekly low-intensity circuit class for those 16 plus with a mixture of cardiovascular, resistance and stability exercises.
Huddersfield Prostate Cancer Support Group
Support group for people living with prostate cancer. Meet others with shared experiences and get information and support. Meetings held fortnightly in person, on the 1st & 3rd Tuesdays of each month at 6.15pm, with a separate group offering support for partners/carers. Macmillan Cancer Information and Support Centre – Huddersfield
The Macmillan Information and Support Service is based on the Greenlea Oncology Unit at Huddersfield Royal Infirmary. They provide practical help and advice for everyone living with or affected by cancer including benefits advice, applying for grants, disabled parking badges, home adaptations, and counselling and work support. They run support groups and signpost to local support groups, along with information about cancer treatment and managing its side effects.
Bladder Cancer Support Group – Calderdale and Huddersfield
Support group helping people with bladder cancer set up by Calderdale and Huddersfield NHS Trust and the charity Action Bladder Cancer UK. It offers the chance to meet others with shared experiences.
Charity for parents and caregivers with children living with cancer or other life limiting conditions, as well as families with bereaved children. Eligible families can stay for free in their holiday caravans. Four caravans are in Primrose Valley in Filey, and one is at Newton Hall Holiday Park very near to Blackpool.
Peer support group for women living with and beyond breast cancer. Meet others with shared experiences and get support and information.

Hospice for people living with life-limiting conditions including their loved ones and carers. It offers free end-of-life care, advice and support including day services, complementary therapies, tai chi, spiritual care, family support, home support and counselling.
