Guest Blog | Blaize Lynch | Medical Tattooing for People Affected by Breast Cancer

03 February 2026 — jessica-bailey

We spoke with Blaize Lynch, owner of SENI in Oxford, about her work in medical tattooing and permanent makeup, supporting people to restore confidence during and after cancer treatment. Blaize specialises in 3D areola restoration, scar camouflage, and permanent makeup for brows and eyeliner.

“Hi, I’m Blaize, a medical tattoo artist based in Oxford and the founder of SENI Oxford (SENI means art in Indonesian). I started my business in 2020 after graduating with a BA in Fine Art and realising I could use those skills to help people feel more confident again after cancer treatment.

Medical tattooing allows me to restore what may have been lost through breast reconstruction or mastectomy surgery, such as realistic nipple and areola tattoos and scar camouflage. For many people, this treatment marks an important milestone in their recovery, helping them feel more whole again after breast cancer.

I also offer permanent makeup such as brows and eyeliner for those experiencing hair loss after treatment. These treatments are designed to support both physical healing and emotional wellbeing, helping you reconnect with your body and regain confidence at your own pace.

One of the most rewarding parts of my work is hearing clients say they feel more like themselves again. Everyone’s journey is different, and no two treatments are ever the same. Your treatment will be tailored to suit you as an individual.

I understand that reaching out can feel daunting. Many people feel unsure or apprehensive, especially if they’re still processing everything they’ve been through. There is absolutely no pressure to move forward with treatment. I’m simply here to answer questions, talk through options, and offer support – even if that conversation is just the first step.

SENI Oxford is run entirely by me, which means every appointment is completely private and one-to-one. I currently work as a private medical tattooist, with both NHS and private surgeons referring patients to me. However, many people self-refer, which you can do at any time. Treatments can be privately funded or sometimes covered by medical health insurance.

Alongside this, I run monthly donation-based clinics to help make medical tattooing more accessible.

Medical tattooing can be a powerful part of the healing process after breast cancer, whether you’re restoring areolas, softening the appearance of scars, or addressing hair loss with permanent makeup. It’s about confidence, closure, and supporting you as you move forward.

If you’d like to find out more or simply have a conversation about what’s possible, you’re very welcome to get in touch.”
