5 Minutes with… The Otium Spa in Egham

10 March 2025 — jessica-bailey

We spoke to Natalie Day, Manager of the Otium Spa in Egham, to learn more about Cancer Touch Therapy. Treatments involve the use of a slow, light, rhythmical touch which aims to help people relax, reduce stress and anxiety, and relieve pain.

Tell us about The Otium Spa, Natalie?

The Otium Spa is a peaceful retreat dedicated to promoting relaxation, rejuvenation, and overall well-being. We’re proud to support those living with Cancer, to find a moment of peace and tranquillity with our safe, nurturing and gentle massage treatments, each using Made For Life Organic products, specifically tailored for clients with sensitive needs.

Do you have a target demographic who use your services?

Our primary focus is on clients with a compromised immune system, including those diagnosed with cancer or currently undergoing treatment. We understand the unique challenges they face, and our treatments are designed to provide comfort, relief, and peace of mind.

What’s the most rewarding thing about the work you do?

The most rewarding part of treating clients living with cancer is the opportunity to make a lasting, positive impact—both physically and emotionally. We’re honoured to offer not only therapeutic care but also emotional support during such a challenging time.

How do you support clients who may feel nervous?

For clients who may feel apprehensive or nervous about their visit, we ensure they feel fully informed and comfortable. We explain each step of the process before their visit, listen to their concerns, and adjust the treatment to meet their needs. Starting slowly and fostering a sense of safety and relaxation is key, as this is a vulnerable time for many clients.

Do you have testimonials from people that have used your services?

“A moment of peace and tranquillity, where worries and concerns just seemed to drift away at the hands of the skilled and nurturing staff. I started the session reassured that the treatment used all natural products. I left the session feeling relaxed and rejuvenated. My skin, which had been feeling dry and dehydrated, felt smooth and supple, and the stiffness I had from holding myself so tense around my shoulders had eased. I cannot recommend Otium Spa and the Made For Life treatments enough. The staff are responsive and knowledgeable and took the time to understand how my health conditions were affecting me. I have tried a few of the different Made For Life treatments now, and they are all amazing. The calmness they evoke stays with me long after the treatment ends.”

Describe The Otium Spa in 3 words?
