Cancer Support Services in Chester | Spotlight

There are over 6,000 local and national support services listed across the UK on Cancer Care Map. Today we’re spotlighting some of the cancer support services available in and around Chester.

 

 

Chester FC Community Trust

Prehabilitation programme for adults preparing for, or going through, cancer treatment. Starting in June 2026, free weekly group sessions will run on Tuesdays, offering tailored exercise to help you build strength and resilience, and the chance to meet others with shared experiences. Consult your cancer team or GP before making any lifestyle changes. Some exercise may not be suitable alongside certain cancer treatments.

Breast Mates Support Group

Support group for people living with breast cancer. It offers one-to-one support, monthly meetings, meetings for people with a secondary breast cancer diagnosis and exercise classes. It also holds regular social and fundraising events.

Hospice of the Good Shepherd

Hospice offering specialist care from a team of medical and nursing staff, with a range of support services for people at the end of life and their loved ones. Services include living well centre and a range of therapies, inpatient and outpatient services, short courses, family support and bereavement services.

Wirral and North Cheshire Prostate Cancer Support Group

Support group for men living with prostate cancer including their loved ones and carers. Meet others with shared experiences, and get support and information. Meetings held in person on the last Saturday of the month except in July, August and December, 10am to 12pm. Guest speakers attend every other month. Contact for more information.
