St David’s is the smallest city in the United Kingdom with a population of just over 1,600. Despite it’s small size, this beautiful cathedral city and its surrounding areas are home to a great selection of cancer support services and organisations.

This local centre in Pembroke Dock offers support and information for those who have or have had cancer, plus their family and friends. It is a secure environment for meetings and for one-to-one contact where information and support can be given. The centre also provides Macmillian cancer reading materials, chat and craft sessions and relaxation classes.
Located at Glangwili Hospital this centre is part of the world-famous Macmillan cancer charity and offers information and support for anyone affected by cancer. You can get access to an extensive range of information and support resources. Help includes advice on the practical aspects of living with cancer from finance and benefits support to travel insurance. The hub can also help with information on health promotion and wellbeing and emotional support services for people affected by cancer, as well as advice on the prevention and detection of cancer.
The Pembrokeshire branch of this national charity provides support to anyone who’s been bereaved, following the death of someone close. Services are free of charge and include confidential one to one meetings, telephone support and email support. For those unable to visit the branch there are online support services also offered.
This Welsh found charity provides information and advice to anyone affected by cancer. Services include a nurse led helpline, benefits and financial advice service via email, access to wellbeing courses, local singing groups and mobile cancer support units. It also signposts to other cancer related services available.
Maggie’s Centres are located across the UK and the one serving the West of Wales can be found in Swansea. They are a friendly place providing information, activities, and a space to meet and share experiences with others. Services include support groups, welfare and benefits advice, wellbeing workshops and complementary therapies. People are encouraged to drop in for a chat or visit the website for more details.
Cancer Information and Support Services
CISS offer emotional support, practical help and advice via one-to-one complementary counselling as well as a telephone helpline. The centre also has an outreach service which takes support to the home, workplace, hospital, or other convenient location on a weekly basis.
