Support for Bladder Cancer in the UK | Bladder Cancer Awareness

Bladder Cancer is one of the ten most common cancers in the UK with over 10,500 people in the UK are diagnosed each year. It is more common in men than in women but more than half of cases are found in people over 75 years old.

May is Bladder Cancer Awareness Month, so here we take a look at a few of the great organisations offering help and support to those living with bladder cancer in the UK.

Fight Bladder Cancer

This charity provides support to people living with bladder cancer and is ran by bladder cancer survivors and their families. With an online platform offering advice and information including an online discussion forum and bladder buddy service, the charity also aims to raise awareness and support medical research into bladder cancer.

Bladder and Bowel Community

This organisation works hard to break down the taboo of bowel and bladder conditions. As well as providing information about bladder conditions, they signpost to emotional support, sexual advice, travel insurance information and more. Their specialist bladder care information covers everything from treatments to catheter care.

U Care

This independent UK charity works towards improving the treatment and care of people living with urological cancers including bladder cancer. through research and education. Their website provides free information, advice, online self-help videos and a will writing service. In addition, the charity runs awareness campaigns working with business and communities.

Action Bladder Cancer

Supporting patients that are living with bladder cancer, this charity offers local support groups across the UK as well as online resources and information from diagnosis to treatment and beyond. As well as participating in and supporting research, they also actively encourage and fund research into bladder cancer.
