Almost 50,000 people are diagnosed with lung cancer each year in the UK, making it the third most common cancer across the country. It is more common in those over 75 and over 70% of diagnoses are caused by smoking.

November is Lung Cancer Awareness month, so we’ve taken a look at some of the support organisations available in the UK.

For those living with lung cancer across the UK, the Roy Castle foundation offers free information and support. It also has a telephone helpline and online forum where people can get advice and information, speak to a nurse or just have a chat.

The charity has support groups all over the UK and offers advice and raises awareness via their website. There is also a telephone helpline with respiratory specialists or health care advisors who can help with any questions and how to manage different conditions.

This private Facebook group is for people living with bronchial and lung neuroendocrine /carcinoid cancer. The membership base includes patients, NET specialty oncologists, nurses, caretakers and advocates and offers resources, information and encouragement to people with the condition and the people who care for and about them.
